How to evaluate Searchmetrics data in Tableau? – Searchmetrics

This works through the Web Data Connector.

After opening Tableau, click on "Web Data Connector" in the left menu bar. Then enter the Web Data Connector URL in the field provided.

Another window opens where you first have to insert the token. This has to be generated beforehand. Take a look at this article (Generate Access Token) if you do not know how to get the token.

*Be aware that the token expires every 60 Minutes.

Here is an example to guide you through the process:

Select one of the possible queries in the report field. A list of all API queries and additional explanations can be found in the API documentation.

Afterwards, select the country code of the country for which data should be collected and also select the time period for the data analysis.

Enter the date in the following format: yyyymmdd

Click "Get your Searchmetrics Data!" when you are done.

Click the "Update Now" field in the following view.

You will now receive your requested data in a table.

Now switch from the data source to the worksheet. You will find this at the bottom left of the programme.

Here you can visualise the retrieved data. Simply drag the desired metrics into the "Columns" and "Rows" fields.

In " Marks" you can then choose between different visualisation types, such as line- or pie charts.
