This section focuses on keyword research in the Searchmetrics Suite. Keyword research is conducted using current rankings.
As a first step, we enter a domain in the Research Cloud search bar and select a country.
Under Organic Search > Organic Rankings there is a list of all of the keywords in our database with which the entering domain achieves rankings in the SERPs.
The list offers various ways to sort the rankings in order to find relevant keywords:
Sorting
Next to the KPI, there are two arrows on the top row, each pointing up and down. If you click on one of these arrows, the rankings will be sorted in descending or ascending order according to the arrows.
Let's take a look at this in an example. The following list is sorted in descending order by Traffic Index. The higher a keyword is listed, the more relevant it is as it generates important traffic. Sorting by search volume or rankings is also useful, for example, for finding important keywords.
Filtering
Another option is to apply filters to the list.
For example, you can filter for individual keywords or URLs. If we filter for the keyword "breakfast", we get all the keywords that contain this word with which the domain ranks.
In the advanced filters, for example, you can also filter Low Hanging Fruits. Ranking on the second page of results often gives a good chance to get to the first page with a little optimization. In addition, brand keywords, for example, can be excluded from the view.
Several filters can be used at the same time. You can see the filters applied to the table above the table. Click on the cross next to a filter to remove only that filter, or click on "Reset filter" to remove all applied filters.
In addition, the preset quick filters can be used to search for relevant keywords with one click.
In this way, keywords with a high search volume (High Value), keywords in lower positions (Quick Win) or with a specific search intent can be found quickly and easily.
If you discover relevant keywords during your research, add them directly to your project in the Search Experience. You can export the entire list and then upload it to your project (How does a keyword upload work?). To export, click on the three dots in the top right corner of the list and then click on "Export". Please note that export credits are charged for this, the amount of which varies depending on the scope.
If you only want to add specific keywords from the list to your project, you can check the relevant keywords (in the box to the left of the keyword) and then click on the "Select Action" > "Add to project" field at the top of the list.
