Although both areas are similarly structured and may therefore be difficult to differentiate at first glance, their functions are fundamentally different.
The Research Cloud
The Research Cloud contains over 250 billion constantly updated data. It therefore offers a comprehensive insight into the overall performance of a domain you have chosen. In addition, the market situation and generic competitors are also analysed here.
The Research Cloud therefore offers the perfect environment for a general, nationwide performance analysis. So if a company wants to analyse its content countrywide, this is the right starting point. It is also possible to carry out extensive keyword research and to analyse organic competitors and compare them with your own domain.
Data within the Research Cloud
All data displayed in the Research Cloud refers to the national search engine results of the selected country.
By selecting "GB", nationwide rankings are analysed.
Does the Research Cloud not show any rankings for the domain you entered, although you are sure that it will appear in the search engine results? Then this does not necessarily indicate a system error.
On the one hand, it is possible that the domain did not actually rank at the time of data collection. The frequency of data collection in the Research Cloud can always be read off the small calendar page in the upper right-hand corner of an element. Some elements are updated weekly (marked "7"), while others are updated less frequently in order to get more basic and deeper impressions of the performance (marked "30").

Another reason could be that the entered domain is not listed in the national rankings, but in the local rankings. Local rankings can only be analysed in the Search Experience.
The Search Experience
The Search Experience offers the possibility to create an individual project in order to be able to carry out in-depth analyses based on a defined keyword set, at defined intervals and the defined search engine.
The analysis of the project data has several advantages compared to the analysis in the Research Cloud:
- Composition of an individual keyword set to exclude irrelevant keywords and include important keywords.
- Adding the desired search engines (national or local) to evaluate local and mobile data.
- Determination of the tracking frequency to update the data at the desired time.
- Keyword tagging in order to break down performances into individual market segments.
- Adding Benchmarks for more extensive competitive analysis.
- Some exclusive analyses such as keyword details
Data within the Search Experience
All data collected in the Search Experience are based on the project and the associated settings. These can be changed at any time in Project Management. In this way, extensive optimisation potential can be uncovered and detailed analyses can be carried out.
The analyses can be broken down to the smallest parts of the project to obtain detailed information.
In addition to the project domain (in the example: "amazon.de"), any benchmark stored in the project can be selected, whose performance can then be evaluated on the basis of the project keywords.
It is also possible to choose one of the search engines in the project to track the local performance of a domain, for example.
In addition, analyses can be broken down to tag level by selecting the desired tag (in the example: project). With a suitable tag structure, analyses can even be broken down to the product level.
