The Research Cloud offers the possibility to compare different domains or URLs with each other. This paragraph explains how this works and at what level comparisons make sense.
The Domain comparison
The domain comparison is suitable for an overall performance comparison at domain level.
Any subpage of the Research Cloud can be used as a starting point for such a comparison. As soon as a domain is analysed in the Research Cloud, there is a button in the upper right corner with the text "Compare domain".
Domain comparison site
After you click on this button, a list with domain suggestions for the comparison will appear. Click on a domain in this list or enter an individual domain into the field to start the comparison.
The domain comparison page then opens, where the number of organic keywords, the traffic index potential, the search volume and the traffic value potential of the two domains are compared with each other.
There is also the spider chart, which offers a detailed overview of the comparison of various KPIs. The exact values are shown in the table next to it. The areas with a green background show the higher value and the areas with a red background the lower value.
In addition, the respective unique keywords and shared keywords can also be displayed here in order to detect possible keyword gaps and determine the amount of overlap. The individual keywords are listed further down the page.
The URL comparison
For more business-specific analyses of performance at product level, comparisons of individual URLs are useful. The starting point for a URL comparison is the URL Details page (Content Performance > URL Details).
Enter the URL you want to compare in the text field or click on any URL from a Research Cloud list to go to the URL Details page. Similar to the Domain Comparison, there is a "Compare URL" button in the top right corner of this page. Click on it and then select another URL from the list or type in a new one to be used for comparison.
The URL comparison page will pop up. It displays the same elements that are shown on the domain comparison page.
